Army Staff Sergeant or Sergeant First Class (E6) Board Practice Exam

The Soldiers Medal is recognized as the highest peacetime award for valor within the U.S. Army. It is awarded to individuals who distinguish themselves by heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy. This medal acknowledges acts of valor performed in situations that do not meet the criteria for combat-related accomplishments, underscoring the service member's bravery and selflessness in peacetime conditions. The Soldiers Medal is awarded based on criteria that reflect the significant courage displayed by the recipient, reinforcing its status as the premier recognition of valor outside of combat situations. Each potential award has its own criteria and significance, but the Soldiers Medal serves a distinctive purpose in honoring bravery during non-combat events.
